The M1918MK1 Page
This one is a pure fantasy piece. It was never used in WW I nor WW II. They were made from reproduction brass handles and long spikes to look like the No.4 bayonets. Remember the old adage, if it is too good to be true, it usually is.
Different variations on the same knuckle knife / spike theme. They are all fantasy items, don't be fooled. These were available in the mid 1980's.
Here we have an example made with the bronze handle. Some one had tried to buff this one to shine it up. Note the rough casting around the finger holes. The chrome plated blade is a sure giveaway having the squared ricasso. This knife was purchased in the 1970's.
This is a current example purchased for $14.95 in 2000. The same blade as the above version but a very different handle. This one is very squared off at the rear of the handle and a much darker brass the the French originals.
