As suggested by several folks, we are adding this page to gather what information we can about edged items of unknown origin or backgrounds. We will print what information we do have on them and any theories anyone may have right here on this page. Hit me with your best shot to stimulate the thought process.
This month we have a knife submitted by Frank Maiorano and he offers $100.00 to the person who documents the knife. It is a strange one to us.
Spec: -U.C.C. (Front of blade), Union Cutlery Co, Olean,NY
(Back of blade), 4 5/8" closed, large sheep foot with small nail grove
and 1 3/4" swedge, large "U.S. Navy" etched on front of blade.
No shield, however an anchor is stamped into the wooden scales. Long steel
bolsters and steel liners.
