"Mystery" knife
This month we feature a somewhat unique mystery sent to us by Scott Chapin. This bayonet was brought home from the American Fork & Hoe plant by Scott's Grandmother when she worked at the plant during the war. Note in the photos that the markings are defaced. Why? Was this a reject bayonet? If so why was it defaced and then Parkerized and completed? Where the markings ground out for civilian sales? Any thoughts on the topic would be greatly appreciated.
