Here is one we are sure most military knife collectors have seen many times before, at least the Patent number. It is perhaps the most highly recognizable as it is stamped on many thousands of blades.

This is the Western Patent stamped prominently on thousands of blade over the years. The Patent refers to the construction of the handle with the Western "H" type leather washers and the dual tang. You have seen the number countless times, we thought we would provide the actual document so you could match up the two the next time you view a Western sheath knife.
